Whilst we think there’s no real answer to this question, the official line is; “a home equipped with lighting, heating, and electronic devices that can be controlled remotely by smartphone or computer.”
However, we believe its whatever you want it to be! We’ll guide you to help answer this question yourself and provide a tailored solution to suit you and your family’s needs. We can incorporate lighting and heating controls, audio visual systems, window treatments and security into a single system that works harmoniously to deliver an energy efficient and convenient home environment with a simple user interface. A Smart Home can help you maximise the potential of your home and provide a secure, immersive and entertaining space to live.
The cost of setting up a smart home can vary significantly depending on the devices you choose and the level of automation you want. There is a seemingly endless range of “smart” devices available on the market that use a variety of different methods to facilitate their individual smart features. Each can be integrated with voice assistants and other platforms to provide varying levels of automation in interoperability. However, this often requires the use of multiple interfaces via apps and provide a somewhat clunky user experience. Typically the cost for this type of smart home starts at around £300 for a DIY solution.
We provide a single professionally installed interface aimed at simplifying the user experience. We can incorporate a host of devices and systems to provide a seamless system catering for the daily demands of a modern home. The cost for this varies entirely on your specific requirements but typically our systems start at around £1800 and can be almost infinitely expandable. We provide maintenance via hourly rate as and when you need us or by an monthly subscription depending on your system. Either way we’re always there should you need us!
This is everyone’s first question and one we help you to answer via a few simple questions;
1: What are your primary goals and priorities? – usually convenience, security and entertainment but we’ll work with you to decide that!
2: Have you already got smart devices you want to use of expand on? – most people now have at least one smart bulb, a smart heating thermostat and a voice assistant. We’ll build on what you’re used to and where possible use your existing equipment to develop your new smart home. On the other hand, if you’re new to the smart home world we’ll help you choose what works for you and design a system with you and only you in mind!
3: What is my budget? – whilst this tends to flex back and forth as your project progresses, its important to set a budget from the outset. This not only gives us some parameters to work within and determine the type of system and products to specify. Most people start off small and expand the system once they work out how they’d like it to operate. Remember, everything is scalable, we just need to know roughly how far you’d like to scale in order to cater for future expansion.
The terms cinema room and media room are often used interchangeably, but they typically refer to slightly different concepts, especially in terms of their design, purpose, and the overall experience they offer.
A cinema room is designed to replicate the experience of a commercial cinema through the use of a projector and fixed screen as opposed to a TV. It focuses on providing an immersive environment for watching films. The goal is to create a high-quality, experience, with an emphasis on visual and audio quality, comfortable seating, and atmosphere.
A media room is a more general-purpose entertainment space and usually has a TV. While it can also include advanced AV equipment, it isn’t necessarily dedicated solely to movie-watching. Media Rooms are generally used for a variety of entertainment purposes, such as watching TV shows, playing video games and listening to music. Media rooms are also much more flexible in terms of function and design.
We can tailor a solution to suit most budgets. The overall cost will depend entirely on the spec and how far you want to elevate your viewing experience. We can provide a media room solution to simply enhance your viewing experience in your lounge by using your existing TV and adding cinematic surround sound and some sleek lighting controls to help set the mood or we can reimagine a disused garage or spare room to create a dedicated cinema room to bring the big screen into your home.
Typically our media rooms range from £2500 to £18,000 and a dedicated cinema rooms range from £18,000 to £40,000. But, the sky is the limit and will depend on how deep you want to go into creating that cinematic experience in the comfort of your home!
